What is WonderTech Summit

WonderTech Summit is the largest initiative of its kind to be organized in Denmark, to bring together women and men from all ends of technology in celebrating the achievements of women in the industry and inspire diversity in tech. We showcase the game-changing work of women in the IT field such as engineers, leaders and founders that innovate, disrupt and focus on solving problems for people, businesses, and the planet.

Our mission is to inspire, educate and support women in pursuing careers in technology. We want to feature role models, provide mentor’s support and create a safe environment where everyone fits in. We do this by building a community of like minded people, facilitating workshops and other events through the Summit

Why are we doing this

Every second female student is dropping out of Computer Science programmes during the very first semester of their education, due to the lack of support and role models and the fact that they are a minority in their class. Research on women’s motives for leaving STEM jobs, points to the effects of a male dominated workplace culture.

How are we going to do it

WonderTech Summit is a one day event with keynote speakers from both Denmark and abroad, hands-on workshops from AI, UX/UI to Cyber Security and the grand finale saved for WonderTech Awards 2019 followed by an afterparty.

Why is it so important to get more women interested in technology

By year 2030 Denmark will face a demand of more than 19.000 IT professionals. So we don’t need women in technology, because they are women, we need them because we need more people in the tech industry. Technology is the future and we believe that each and everyone of us should be involved in it.
